As well as over 1,520 lively and stimulating boys, over 300 members of staff (around 185 teachers and 115 associate staff) have talents and abilities in a range of areas, which means that MGS is a busy and exciting environment to work in.
There is a strong feeling of community and relationships between members of different departments and all are warm and friendly.
MGS is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and successful applicants for all posts will be required to undergo child protection screening.
Our Academic Deputy Head, Paul Thompson, is responsible for recruitment of teaching staff and our Bursar, Gillian Batchelor is responsible for the recruitment of non-teaching staff. All recruitment is managed by Cath Berry and she would be delighted to help if you would like to know more about working in our School.
MGS is within easy access to many areas in and around Manchester and the choices of places to live are numerous. Our staff live in and travel from Cheshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and the areas within Greater Manchester – some even as far as Wales. If you are looking to re-locate and would like to get in touch with a member of our staff who lives in a particular area for a personal perspective, please do give Cath Berry a call on 0161 224 7201 Ext 204 or contact her by email
