OM Luncheon Club - RNCM

This event will be held at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).

The cost of £32 will include a two-course lunch (main and dessert) and a glass of wine or soft drink. 

The speaker will be Anna Wright: Past Librarian and Archivist of the RNCM and presently a PhD student at the college.

The founding of the Royal Manchester College of Music (RMCM) and the ‘Manchester factor’.

The RMCM was the precursor to the RNCM.  In the preface to Manchester: making the modern city Kidd and Wyke write that ‘The history of Manchester echoes with innumerable voices of individuals and groups…’.  Drawing on documents from the RMCM and other archives, I will show that the way individuals and groups functioned together in the city’s society in the late nineteenth-century underpinned, and was key to, this and similar institutions.

The meeting room will be on the ground floor and there is disabled car parking adjacent.
